Spalding from afar

Today was a zero day in Spalding. I purchased supplies and snacks at the general store. The homemade ‘veggie square’ was delicious – I don’t know what was in it, but it tasted like a frittata. I was originally planning to send a resupply package from Crystal Brook to Spalding, but decided instead to send one to Hallett and buy a few days’ worth of food here. Unfortunately, I realized later that the Hallett post office hours are very limited: 9 AM – 11 AM on weekdays. Not a big deal, but I’ll have to pick the package up the morning after I get to Hallett instead of when I arrive.

The Wi-Fi at the Barbed Wire pub is excellent and I’m downloading audiobooks, Hunger by Knut Hamsen and Emma by Jane Austen. I’m excited for Hunger since one description claims that it influenced Camus and Kafka.
